Online Color Converter

Here you can convert colors among all the more important color spaces.

The supported color models are:

  • RGB (Red Green Blue);
  • CMY (Ciano Magenta Yellow);
  • HSB (Hue Saturation Brightness);
  • HSV (Hue Saturation Value);
  • HSI (Hue Saturation Intensity);
  • HSL (Hue Saturation Lightness);
  • YIQ (Luma In-phase Quadrature);
  • YUV (Luma Chrominance(U) Chrominance(V));
  • YCbCr 1:1:1 (Luma Blue-Luma Red-Luma);
  • CIE 1931 (X Y Z).

Choose the color space of the input color, set it's 3 values and press "Convert Color". The input color will be showed in all supported color spaces.

Pay attention to the order and range of values for each color system, according to listed below. Each range has its limits separated by comma. When the range values have no decimal separator, it means the entered number must be integer.

  • RGB: R [0, 255] - G [0, 255] - B [0, 255];
  • CMY: C [0, 255] - M [0, 255] - Y [0, 255];
  • HSB: H [0, 360] - S [0.0, 1.0] - B [0.0, 1.0];
  • HSV: H [0, 360] - S [0.0, 1.0] - V [0.0, 1.0];
  • HSI: H [0, 360] - S [0.0, 1.0] - I [0.0, 1.0];
  • HSL: H [0, 360] - S [0.0, 1.0] - L [0.0, 1.0];
  • YIQ: Y [0.0, 1.0] - I [-0.523, 0.523] - Q [-0.596, 0.596];
  • YUV: Y [0.0, 1.0] - U [-0.5, 0.5] - V [-0.5, 0.5];
  • YCbCr: Y [0, 255] - Cb [0, 255] - Cr [0, 255];
  • CIE: X [0.0, 1.0] - Y [0.0, 1.0] - Z [0.0, 1.0].

Important information:

  • The YCbCr color space usually have these ranges: [0.0, 1.0], [-0.5, 0.5] and [-0.5, 0.5]. Beside this, it doesn't offer convertion for all RGB colors with 8 bits per channel. P2P uses a modified YCbCr model, with all 3 ranges between 0 and 255, and that can make all needed convertions.
  • The RGB color space can not represent all possible colors of CIE space. In fact, the X, Y and Z values are not restricted to [0.0, 1.0] as defined above, and, even with this restriction, there still are a lot of CIE colors that can not be converted to other color spaces.
